Coming up to visit Big Bear Lake and thinking about a rental?

 

Keep in mind that the only rental vessels allowed on Big Bear Lake are those offered by the marinas on the Lake.

Rentals from any business other than the local marinas are not allowed on Big Bear Lake and will not be allowed to launch.

Ordinance 51, Section 2-1.104(R)

"Commercial use of District facilites, including public launch ramps, is strictly prohibited without a valid marina permit or express written authorization from the District."

Ordinance 51, Section 2-1.108

"Except for commercial activity conducted by a commercial boat landing operator and their concessionaires, no person shall conduct a commercial activity on District property without securing a special concession permit from the District."

 
Definitions

" 'commercial activity' is activities involving use of the Lake and Shorezone below the high water elevation for gain or profit."

" 'Shorezone' is all lands within the reservoir area created by the Dam and lying bewlow high water elevation, i.e. 6,743.2 feet NGVD-29"

" 'Commercial Boat Landing' is the seventeen (17) commercial marina operations permitted by the District's predecessor in interest, Bear Valley Mutual Water company, and assigned to the District... "
