2018 Public Launch Ramp Operations

2018 Public Launch Ramp Operations

Lake level conditions have caused a change in operations at both public launch ramps.

At the time of this writing, the water level at the Carol Morrison East Public Launch Ramp at 41911 Northshore Drive is too shallow to allow most vessels to safely launch. As a result, the launch ramp at this facility will be greatly restricted for the duration of the 2016 season. Only Personal Water Craft (PWC’s) will be permitted to launch during the peak season schedule.  The facility’s parking lot will remain open to the public for parking, fishing, hiking, picnics, dog walking, etc. Hand launched vessels such as canoes, kayaks and paddleboards are still allowed.

The Duane Boyer West Public Launch Ramp at 38925 Northshore Drive has much deeper water available to accommodate all trailered vessels, therefore will be open daily starting April 1, 2016 through the close of the season on December 1, 2016.

Both locations will be staffed with District personnel as per the scheduled hours of operation for Lake Use Permit sales as well as vessel inspections and decontaminations. Pay attention to the ramp closing times as the entrance gate will be locked at ramp closing time. Vehicles parked inside the ramp facility prior to the closing of the entrance gate can exit at any time.

ALL WAKEBOARD VESSELS with ballast bags/tanks needing decontamination (any vessel without an intact MWD band) must be inspected and decontaminated at the East Ramp facility prior to launch at the West Ramp.

The above information is subject to change, depending on water level conditions as the season progresses. Thank you in advance for your continued cooperation and understanding.
